Sofia Kapnissi was born in Athens, Greece. From 1985 to 1990 studied Fine Arts with direction painting. In 1991, as young artist she went out to find in her art what lies beneath the habits, the “known facts” and all what can be connected with one’s roots; moved to Holland, a country right at the other side of her own, literally and metaphorically. Since then, she “settled” several times here and there and elsewhere.
